LIFE. It sure gets in the way of blogging sometimes!  So...last week was busy: My boy was home for Spring Break, and although I can't blog about him, I will say that it was fun to have him around :)  My daddy had major surgery (a complete shoulder replacement) and is home and recovering nicely.  My mom is a good nurse!  I signed up for a swap on my friend Natalea's blog...I made 13 postcards and mailed them out, and will get 13 back. I used vintage wallpaper , ledger paper,  lace and some seam binding that I wet and scrunched up in a ball to dry, so it's all wrinkly...

  

We wrote inspirational quotes on the back side.  I'm looking forward to a little happy mail in the coming weeks!

And spring is here!  Hooray!  I'm not liking the pollen and the bee's, but the flowers outside my window make it impossible to have a bad day!

The save the date cards arrived yesterday, and they look great...

I went to the post office to buy stamps, and ended up buying the wedding ring stamps...so cute.  She has the day off tomorrow, so we will be busy writing addresses.  One final rambling thought...

How many times will I refill these candy jars before Easter actually gets here?  Hope you are enjoying LIFE!!

save the date...

Elizabeth has spent weeks searching for the right "save the date" cards for her wedding and couldn't find the perfect one.  She was looking for something personal, vintage and meaningful to her. I decided to give it a shot and took some photos of a vintage bride and groom cake topper that we have had for years.  I used my VERY limited knowledge of Photoshop to add text, and printed it out for her to see.  To my surprise, she loved it, and is going to use it!  The photo above is an example of the image and font and color.  The real save the date has all the appropriate information on it.  We sent the image to the printer yesterday, and should have the cards within a week.  One more thing marked off the wedding "to do" list!

This boy doesn't want to be blogged about anymore, so I will try my best not to.  However...today is his 21st birthday and I just have to say...thanks for making my life perfect for the past 21 years.  Happy Birthday son...

sweet Caroline...

Last night my beautiful Goddaughter Caroline went to her Senior Prom and I was lucky enough to see her before her date picked her up.  She looked PERFECT last night, from her hair and makeup and earrings...

she was simply stunning...

What the pictures can't say {but I can}, is that she is even more beautiful on the inside.  I have been blessed to know her from the beginning, {I hosted the baby shower for her mom when she was expecting}, and had the honor of being the first person, other than family, to hold her in the hospital on the day she was born.  That seems like yesterday.  In the next few months she will turn 18, graduate from High School and this fall will go away to the college she has always dreamed of.  It has been a joy to watch her grow up from a quiet little girl to a strong, confident young woman.  She is a joy to all that know her, from her family and friends, to those at church and school and in the community.  I know that her future is bright, and wish her all the success and happiness in the world.  No matter how far she may travel, she will always be in my heart.  xo

good morning...

Good morning friends!  It seems like forever since I've been here.  I needed a few weeks to spend with family and try to sort out the flood of emotions that come with the loss of a loved one.  There have been many bright spots, like seeing family from all over the country...some that hadn't seen my children since they were babies.  SO much reconnecting, and stories and laughter.  So much food!  So today is a new day, and a new week, and I need to reconnect with a few other things.  My life for one.  And this blog, and your blog, and the gym, and the garden, and a million emails...Here's wishing you a fabulous day! xo
