washateria…

Once upon a time, in a little town in Texas…

there was a sketchy abandoned washateria…

and I made my first born get out of the car for a photo...and she did it with a smile…

we’re back…

Elizabeth and I flew home late last night from 6 great days in Texas.  We had so much fun together…shopping, eating, laughing, and pulling over to the side of the road every time I saw a cute cow or horse or fencepost with flowers growing on it!  This was the entrance to one of a hundred ranches we passed, and I stopped on the side of the road and asked her to walk down the driveway a bit.  We were both nervous to be trespassing, so we made it quick…

and as soon as I snapped this picture a HUGE Texas sized jackrabbit jumped out from the fence and scared us to death!  We ran to the car and drove away…our hearts were pounding and we were screaming/laughing/crying all at the same time.  A little adventure is good for the soul!  More adventures to come…

blogging up close…

This picture reminds me of the way I blog most of the time…up close.  I usually try to share a bit of good…something nice…but it’s only a close up of my life.  I don’t always show you the big picture. The big picture can be messy, and complicated, but that’s my life.  Yours too, I’m guessing.  No one has it perfect, and I’m not trying to pretend that my life is.  I’ve shared some troubles along the way, but I try to keep it light…to lift you up, not bring you down…and keep this a happy place.  So every time I show you a close up of my life, just remember…

that there is a bigger picture…and it’s far from perfect!  {and thanks for being there either way}  xo

texas…

In two weeks I am flying to Texas to attend the Fall Antique Market and my daughter Elizabeth is going along with me…a week of mother-daughter junkin’…Texas style!  Warrenton, Round Top, Marburger, Zapp Hall, Junk Gypsies…here we come!   Here are a few of my favorite photos from my last visit…
