Now that my daughter is married, I absolutely cherish the rare time I get to spend with her. I don't feel like I am raising her anymore. She is simply my very best friend. Yesterday she had the day off, and she came over to my house. We took a long walk and talked about everything, then we went to lunch (and cupcakes) and then did a little antique shopping. When we came home we went through cookbooks and did some meal planning. It was a very perfect mother-daughter day. At the antique mall she found this vintage velvet flower covered hat in one booth, and I found this English tin in another. The woman working at the check out commented that these items looked lovely together. My daughter innocently replied " they're in our color palette". OUR color palette! Who knew? Another reason to love being her mom...

A perfect day, indeed. You are both very lucky to cherish each other. And I "cherish" (covet!) that velvet flower-covered hat. I bought a similar one, but haven't dared to cut off a single bloom. I also really like your doily table runner. Who knew doilies could be modern?

Aw, what a sweet post, and wonderful day! It makes me hope that one day Scarlet and I will have these adult mother-daughter days like you and Elizabeth.
And as an aside, may I just say: that is one FABULOUS shirt you're wearing in your sidebar photo!

I hope that is the kind of relationship I have with my girls when they get older. You are very lucky!

My daughters are 32 and 25, and we have this type of mother-daughter(s) relationship, as well ~ I feel so blessed! Lovely, lovely blog! I'm a new follower! ♥♥
Best,
Anne
P.S. That's my new fav color palette, too!

Those are both beautiful finds and they do compliment each other! Suzanne, I enjoyed meeting you in Atlanta and am sorry I haven't stopped by to visit your blog since then. I'm a little jealous that I don't have a daughter! Your time together sounds so wonderful and reminds me of my mom and me! Jennifer Grenko

I have one girl who is getting married! My other three are boys! She lives several states away from me. So we are doing lost distance wedding planning. I am making a vintage suitcase card holder similar to what you did for your daughter! Her colors are Tiffany Blue and Silver for a January wedding! We both love the same vintage things too! When I get to spend time with her we squeeze in so much fun! She's the best! So thankful I got one daughter in the midst of the boys! (love them too!)
