Elizabeth wants all the flower containers at her wedding to be different...vintage, shabby, unique...crystal, china, metal, silver, milk glass...you get it.
We found a terrific florist who, when we asked, "Can we bring you 50 different containers, and will you make a flower arrangement in each one and deliver it?"...she said "SURE...that sounds awesome!". We knew we had found a florist with our vision. So we are hunting and gathering. Thinking outside the box. Saving used up mercury glass jars from our favorite candles...
Washing and starching vintage linens...
She wants several containers on each table, mixed with pictures and objects and things...a rustic romantic vignette...
So we're playing and arranging and imagining...
that's what we're up to...

So fun, its going to be beautiful. Check out the gorgeous wedding she decorated for some inspiration: http://missmustardseed.blogspot.com/
Have fun!!

Wow, it's going to be so lovely. I can hardly wait to see photos.
We did something similar for our youngest daughter's wedding last September - collected vases from the thrift store, each one different, and made casual arrangements for them all.

This is very "in" right now. Our shop is doing these kind of weddings all summer. We did one recently at the country club, she used mason jars and salt and pepper shakers. she had vintage tags with sayings on each one. Cotton balls still on the stem's, and burlap, lot's of burlap mixed with vintage doilies.
It was quite lovely. We actually filled the containers on site though, it was much easier then trying to deliver so many all done up.

Hello.
What a charming blog you have. It was inviting to me because I love pink roses. My very favorite rose is the red rose. Me and my daughters just started a new blog, and we would love it if you would stop by and visit us. The link is: http://redrosealley.blogspot.com. The latest post is "Home Treasures." It will give you a chance to get to know us. From one rose to another, have a sweet day.

LOVE that idea. My sister did something similar to that for her wedding years ago. We had such fun gathering and collecting containers and linens.
Elizabeth's wedding will be a beautiful reflection of who she is.
I'm waiting for Aimee to settle on a venue and a vision so that I can start planning!

it will be so beautiful! remember when we did that for Erin's wedding ... the trick to a smooth set-up with all those vignette materials is to stage each table ahead (even with empty containers), take a quick photo, print it and then put everything for that table into one box with the photo taped to the side. that way it sets up quickly and looks like you want it to even if someone else arranges it.
good luck! so, so exciting!

This is a fantastic idea! We've done something similar with clients in the past. It's always a win when you can use something vintage, especially if it's a family heirloom or antique.
