I was trying to take a few pictures of my Hydrangeas today, because at this time of the year they turn green instead of blue. I don't know if it's just the end of the season, or something to do with heat (lots of it), or rainfall (not enough of it). They will stay green like this all winter, eventually turning very papery and brown.
I think they look very pretty this way...very neutral ... they actually match my decor better than the bright blue. I looked up from the flowers and noticed that my helper had followed me outside...
She follows me everywhere...she is curled up by my feet as I write this. And she has no plans to leave me and go off to college. I should have just had cats, not kids.

That sure is a cute helper you have there!
Yep, at least our three cats won't move out like kids do!! :)

The hydrangeas are lovely, I wish they grew in my yard but have killed far to many to count now. I totally agree, life with cats would be much easier than those with kids. Loyal, friendly, independant, sigh, yep cats are the way to go!

Awe Suzanne, think on the bright side...your children will go off to college, start their own families and best of all, bring you more little paws and pitter patter. Cats...well...are they, should I say, a little selfish? You have two beautiful kids and a beautful cat...how lucky can you be?

Oh, I hope you feel better, I already think of the day when my oldest will go off to college, in 5 years Ha ha! So Im sure you are trying to treasure this summer before the kids go off to school. I hope God will bring you peace through all this. Ill be praying for you :)

Pretty cat, pretty flowers, both will help you pass the hours.

Yes, I love the hydrangea's that color as well. They almost look like show-off's when they are such bright blue or pink colors. No one likes a show off.

Suzanne ~ I know how you feel. We are currently in LA helping Ashley move again! It's tearing at my heartstrings..at least I have our shizpoo, Noodle, to go home to- she becomes my shadow. However, she will be sooooo sad when she realizes Ashley didn't come home with us. Noodle will keep going in her room to check if she is there. so sad :(

Whatever you're feeling is okay with me, since I never experienced, from my mother, the feelings you're expressing. And never having had children, I can't really relate to what you're expressing either - hmmm, maybe that's why I've always had cats in my life. But if I had to choose, I think I'd wish I had memories of a mom feeling like you do at the prospect of me leaving. Wishing you a light heart! LindaSonia

(((Suzanne)))
I soooooooooo understand how you are feeling - and because I am a teeny bit ahead of you on this path.. I can tell you that you will be okay AND they do come back! These quiet times are like an intermission - not only do they come back, they also bring noisy adorable friends with them sometimes - and sometimes they need to come home again to regroup or recharge. They LOVE you.. THEY WILL COME BACK. This won't be permanent.
And you can remind me of all this too when my baby leaves again in two weeks.
(((((hugs)))))
